Here are a couple of announcements from Budget Travel Magazine:
About the Senior Editor Position position: The Senior Editor will conceive, assign, edit and close features and the Where section, contribute to BudgetTravelOnline including the Budget Travel blog, and make appearances on behalf of Budget Travel in the media and at industry functions. There’s also the likelihood of taking on special projects, such as books and television assignments, as directed.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have at least five years experience in an editorial role at a consumer magazine, with at least two years assigning experience. Experience with travel journalism is a major plus. College degree preferred.

Contest: the magazine has also announced a writing contest for the best travel blog. You must post your entry in the comments section of the blog announcement in the “This Just In” section of their website by April 30, 2007. They’ll pick 4 entries that the editors think are best, based on writing quality and “informativeness,” then post them on their blog. The person whose entry receives the most comments during that week will be a guest travel blogger on our site for a week, plus win a $500 gift certificate.
