The Fun Seeker’s Guides are a series of travel guidebooks created for discerning travelers who want to experience the best, the latest, the most fun things a city has to offer:

The target reader is thirty-to-forty something, hip, sophisticated, and financially comfortable, so these are not rough guides or budget guides. Nightlife is as important as daytime activities, and the books convey opinions and a bit of attitude as well as accurate and specific travel information. The tone is conversational, fun, relaxed, and enthusiastic. The listings include both well-known attractions and insiders’ haunts.

They are seeking two different writers:

One general writer who would be responsible for researching and writing the bulk of the book, including introduction, practical information, out-of-town destinations, calendar of events, as well as listings in the Hotels and Attractions sections.

One specialized writer who would be responsible for researching and writing the Restaurant and Nightlife sections. This person should have proven writing experience and expertise in these areas.

Detailed guidelines for each position can be found here.

Deadline to apply is August 15, 2005
