I’m on a pause for the Thong book tour, and working on the Jockstrap Table of Contents. We’re a bit behind schedule on that, but the book is shaping up to be really funny. And I’m not just saying that. Inviting men into the collection is a fun tangent and you’ll get to see some of your favorite travel studs like Tim Cahill, Rolf Potts, Elliot Hester, and Jim Benning (figuring we get the permission, of course).

I had suggested to TT that I wanted to take a break from these after Jockstrap, but we have to cut so many funny stories to make our normal size, that we have a really good start on a second book. So, I’m not sure what’s going to happen with that. This is the first time we’re having to cut stories that would normally make the book. We might’ve had cuts before, and those might’ve been borderline stories. This time we’re having to trim stories that could definitely be included. How crazy is that?

In other news, I want to try my hand as a travel TV host. People are frequently telling me that I’m the next Rachel Ray, and I’m all for it. I had a meeting with a Producer yesterday and luckily he was less concerned with my 20 new pounds of love weight, than I am. I think he liked me, and he seemed to like my ideas, but we all know that in business that only goes as far as…oh, dessert? Whether it works out or not, I already got something out of it. He told me I need a new TV tape. So, I guess it’s a good thing that I’m getting interviewed today. I’ll be in San Jose this morning for a short Bay Area Vista interview. I’ll let you know when it airs.

  1. Good point. First of all no, we’re not done yet. But the tough part is that TT is too understaffed to get rejection letters out and they state that on their guidelines page. Every year I say I’m going to do things differently and send them out for my books, but it always escapes me and I’m sure I’ll go to hell for it.

Write me separately in a month or so AG and I’ll let you know.

    Thanks!

  2. Yeah, I remember seeing that in their guidelines, but I seem to recall a comment you made once about being behind in sending out rejections letters…maybe I was thinking of something else.
At any rate, thanks for the answer! 🙂
