Hey Bay Area WR fans, I'll be at Easy Going in Berkeley this Sunday from 1-3:00pm. Yep, with the BraMobile. Just hanging out, signing books if you don't already have one, and chatting with travel lovers while I pass through town.

Come on by if you can. If you bring me a bra, you'll get entered into a raffle to win 10 free autographed copies and 10 free Travelers’ Tales t-shirts. Winner is announced Nov. 1, just in time to to give to your friends for Xmas.

Hope to see you there!

  1. hi there-
has anyone mentioned the annual solano ave stroll to you? it’s sponsored by the albany (between berkeley & el cerrito)chamber of commerce i think (contact person is lisa bullwinkle) every year thousands of people come to stroll up & down solano ave (parallel marin ave/buchanan exit off of hwy 80) & the whole event starts off with a parade-usually with a contingent of art cars…i think i read that this year to be more environmentaly sensitive the cars will not actually be in the parade but will be off to the side on display—a perfect opportunity for you to be in the vicinity! most of the area will probably be closed off to traffic but my guess is that the cars will be on display in the median strip along key route blvd off of solano which in this instance can probaby be approached from the northern side, meaning from the streets washinton (mechanics bank), portland (albany high school), garfield or brighton off the main drag san pablo ave from going n toward el cerrito trying to turn east toward the hills on any of these streets until you reach
masonic which parallels the bart tracks which also comes close to intersecting key route at solano. it just sounds like a good opportunity for some extra exposure! i think the parade begins at 11am-perfect timing for you-it starts at the top of solano(very near n berkeley & easy going & descends w towards san pablo ave that main n/south drag you’d run into in exiting the freeway. i’ll be lookin for you at easy going in any event

  2. Linda, thanks for the huge heads up! No, I hadn’t heard about it yet, and it would be great exposure. I will be in the pink car, and hopefully with the banner that says:
    Sand in My Bra
    the funniest book this year
    http://www.sandinmybra.com

The car is pink, the banner is blue and white, and I will be there to hang out and chat. It’s not a scheduled reading, but I’ll be up for a spontaneous read should there be a gathering who wants one.
