Hopefully there are others — like myself — that are based in the Pacific Northwest and can take advantage of this great opportunity. Avalon Travel Publishing (which happens to be the largest independent travel publisher based in the United States) is looking for writers to author several new Moon guidebooks: Moon Pacific Northwest, Moon Outdoors Oregon Hiking, and Moon Portland.
Writers should live in the region or have very close ties to the region and visit often. Obviously to write a guidebook, the author should have in depth knowledge of the guidebook topics. For Oregon Hiking, the author should be passionate about hiking and the outdoors and have firsthand experience on trails featured in the guidebook.
