Hey everybody, just wanted to let you know that Jennifer Bove is on the hunt for great stories again. This is her third anthology. You might remember her from The Back Road to Crazy: Stories From the Field, a co-ed collection that took us into the field with biologists working in wildlife studies, botany, and resource management. It came out with Utah Press in 2005 and included National Geographic photographer Mark W. Moffett, World Wildlife Fund Chief Scientist Eric Dinerstein, and pioneer female biologist Barbara B. DeWolfe, among others.

Her new book, A Mile in Her Boots, is releasing with Travelers’ Tales next month. Just some of the tales you’ll find in there will be about smoke jumping river running, professional falconry, horse packing, and atmospheric science. Of course there’s more, and I haven’t seen it yet, but the stories are all from the frontlines of wildnerness work.

So, what’s the new one about?
Wild With Child: Adventures of Families in the Field will be about outdoor adventures with kids.
The submission guidelines are on her website.
DEADLINE: July 1, 2006.

You can follow Jennifer’s blog, or catch her on the Amazon Connect program. Here is her profile page.
