My first true parent pleasing byline came out today. TIME. When I told my grandfather this weekend he said he wanted to buy ten copies. The funny part is I’m not sure he has ten people to give it to. And, it’s pretty small. My dad on the other hand wanted to get one copy and drive around to the various houses of my family to show them. Either way, my family will be happy to see my name in a big mainstream magazine. In reality, it is smaller than your thumb. I didn’t mind getting edited down at all. I wasn’t around for last minute questions so I hope that doesn’t hinder me from future assignments.

To get more in TIME I have to come up with the absolute freshest and “funnest” in all things travel. Yes, I know that’s not a legitimate word, but I like it and it should be. For me, the most exciting part was when editor Christopher Farley invited me to pitch.

Ok, enough celebrating. It’s time to keep plugging at the task at hand…Whose Panties are These?

  1. Anyone interested in writing travel content for a new UK web site? If so read on…

We will provide an online service displaying the best valued flights, holidays and short breaks. Ukula will not be a travel agent and will not sell tickets or holidays. Our partners, will promote there best deals and will include airlines, travel agents specializing in UK cross Atlantic destinations, and both major tour operators and small specialists.

What we would be looking for from you would be any articles you could write that would fit into our travel section. This can be anything from a destination review to a diary of places visited on a world tour. We will be featuring a specific article on a regular basis and the writer will have the opportunity to have a story placed on the main travel page of our site. This will be featured in our main cities Toronto, Montreal, New York and London exposing you to all of our users and increasing the chances of your writing skills being noticed.

    Please contact me at steven.flockhart@ukula.com
    if you are interested.

    Thanks

  2. Thanks, everybody! Someone emailed me a scanned photo of the print page and it looks great. There’s a picture of Capri and it’s in a sidebar box so it doesn’t seem as small as I thought it’d be.
