It's not all about the West Coast.

Ayun Halliday is doing events for the zany and wildly entertaining No Touch Monkey! And Other Travel Lessons Learned Too Late
Three chances left to go to a reading. Get out there, you won’t want to miss her read from this hilarious book. AND it’d be a great holiday gift. (full listings will be at the end)

Big thanks to Kathy B for sending this one in…

The Rockettes can go to the devil! I gotcher holiday tradition right here! Let me preempt the sugar plums with a rare reading of The Big Rumpus’s infamous yuletide chapter. B-Y-O-Nog or some holiday cookies to share, though be forewarned that Soft Skull will be enforcing the standard You Spill Eggnog All Over It You Buy It policy. Speaking of buying it, I’ll be happy to pad out your shopping list by autographing The Big Rumpus, No Touch Monkey! or any other book you stick under my nose. I’m hauling our record player over from East Village Inky Headquarters, so by all means, bring any maudlin sentimental favorites you’ve go cluttering up your vinyl collection and we’ll give it a spin. Finally, please bring a canned good or two, just so I can haul home something heavier than a record player. (Does that make it sound like I’m planning on hogging your dusty creamed corn to myself? No, it’s all going to City Harvest!)

A word of caution to those of us who believe in Santa: The final minutes of this reading contain some major spoilers, so nippers of a certain age group may want to go to grandma’s for this event, if you receive my meaning. Inky and Milo will be sitting this one out. Don’t want to ruin anyone’s Christmas, you dig?
