Hi Roadies! As Jen mentioned last month, I’m getting ready to head out on a big trip, so posts from me will be few and far between. But I’ve got several items to share before I leave, so l’ll get right to it with this one — yet another excellent learning opportunity for travel writers, esp. those of you based in and around London:

Writer and journalist Dea Birkett will host two Saturday travel writing workshops in central London next month, on March 4 and March 18. Both learning opportunities are small, intensive, one-day workshops focusing on writing skills. The first is open to all writers, the second, only to previously published or former workshop attendees. They will be team taught by Dea Birkett and Rory Maclean. For details, email Dea directly at travelworkshops@deabirkett.com

I learned about these workshops while reading the latest newsletter from Rory Maclean, who is sorting out the final details for his latest book, The Magic Bus: On the Hippie Trail from Istanbul to India, which has an expected release date of June 29. You can read Rory’s Winter 2006 newsletter and learn more about the book on his website.
