Bill Bryson is on tour this month. I saw him in San Francisco for his In a Sunburned Country tour, and needless to say you won't be disappointed by his events. Besides his sidesplitting anecdotes, Bryson has the best autograph I've collected yet. He signs each book carefully, and with a good well inked pen. I don't know if he was always this good at book signings, or if that kind of style came with the experience of several books. Maybe his signature evolved into greatness after book four? I don't know. I'll ask him the next time I see him, but sadly it won’t be on this tour.

A Short History of Nearly Everything is available now. I can't wait to add it to my bookshelf.

Read an excerpt on the publisher's web site, “How to Build A Universe”

Check out all his books, tune in to his event schedule, and particpate on his forum at BillBrysonBooks.com

This is an author I respect on several levels. Writing, public speaking, and especially book signing. Enjoy.

  1. Cool. I’ll keep an eye out for it in my favorite haunts (used bookstores, where I discover all my traveling books- including Traveler’s Tales). But I will buy Sand in my Bra new 😉

  2. HB, thanks for supporting the cause. Yeah, if you could buy/order + buy it from your local independent bookstore that’d be great. Thanks 🙂

  3. Ooh – he’s in my hometown tomorrow, the 14th. Of course, I’m in Tennessee, but maybe I can get my dad to go down there. Cool 🙂 Your ‘blog is just absolutely the best 🙂
