We've just booked Distant Lands for Monday June 9 at 7:30 p.m. That'll give me a full week in SoCal after BEA.

Distant Lands is a terrifc travel specialty book store in Pasadena, CA. I did an event there for A Woman's Path back in 2000.

Reading for Sand In My Bra is going to be extra fun in Los Angeles this time around because contributors Lori Mayfield, Deborah Chaney, and Suzanne Schlosberg are down there — authors to some of my favorite stories in the book. Damn I have to get those contributor letters out before this book releases. Ahhhh. At least they are written and ready to go. TGIF. Which for this working stiff means, Thank Goodness I Finally get to work more on my book projects.

Distant Lands does a good job promoting their events. They’ll be running pr on it in The Los Angeles Times, local newspapers, their web site, and their newsletters. We are also going to print up Sand In My Bra post cards with their event info on the back so they can hand them out in the store and at events prior to mine.

Now to book San Diego.

  1. LOL. Krista, I don’t know why but I wasn’t expecting this when I hit the comments button to see what the post was. Too funny. And you know what? Can you email me your personal email and phone number for the days that you’re gone? Not to overburden you with all normal email I would send to your work address, just in case I need some last minute advice when booking stuff or if I have an urgent concern. Is that cool with you?
