We have more than 16,000 books shipped from our warehouse, and now we've put an order in for another 3500. This will be the third time the book has gone to the printer since the initial print run of 10,000.

If you're thinking to yourself, “why don't they just print more so they don’t have to do it as often?” Well, there are a couple of reasons. One is that we’ve been caught before with over printing and then stuck with storage feels and pulping costs. These combined resulted in Travelers’ Tales losing an amount of money that is difficult to stomach. So, playing it more carefully and weary of returns, we’re printing as we go.

Frankly, I’m more relieved about this than I am excited. I was concerned that we might be caught in the middle of a print run while I was on the big tour and this will assure us that we’ll have plenty of books. Even if I manage to sell everything that’s in my trunk and need more.
