I can’t believe it’s August already! And that means that the first Wednesday of the month is the Wild Writing Women’s Literary Salon! This month, I’m hosting and our guest speaker is Bruce Kelley, Editor-in-Chief of San Francisco Magazine.

Writers, publishers, agents, and book lovers — if you’re in town, please stop by for wine, apps, and great networking. I’d love to meet you. 🙂

Here are the details:

Bruce Kelley , Editor-in-Chief of San Francisco magazine

Prior to San Francisco magazine, Bruce had been with Health Magazine since 1992. He started as a Senior Editor, served as Managing Editor from 1996-1997 and was the Executive Editor from 1998 to 2000, when he joined San Francisco magazine. He also was an editor at Sunset and at California Magazine. Under Bruce’s leadership the magazine has been nominated for and won numerous awards. He’s particularly proud of the National Magazine Award nomination for “Trouble in the Presidio” (about mismanagement of the Presidio Trust). Bruce is a Bay Area native – he grew up on the Peninsula, matriculated at Princeton, lived in Berkeley for many years and now lives in Moraga with his wife and two children.

The Monticello Inn

The Monticello is a boutique hotel just off San Francisco’s famous Union Square. We highly recommend it for book launch parties, meetings, workshops, and out-of-town guests who appreciate books. Each room has a Book Honor Bar and twenty-five percent of the revenue from sold books is donated to the Friends & Foundation of the San Francisco Public Library. Every room telephone features a direct dial button, which connects the guest directly to Borders Books & Music for product ordering and complimentary delivery.
