Just wanted to let you know where I was. I’ll be here tonight and tomorrow night researching part of an article for Student Traveler.

The past few weeks I’ve noticed everyone has their head in a cell phone. And two days ago I watched someone send a phone picture. I hadn’t seen or done that before. Being on the road makes me miss having more forms of communication. Hardly anyone is emailing me, and that bugs me. But it also annoys me when I have too many. Lose lose. I think I’d feel as special as Hawaiian punch if someone actually called me. Yes, I continue to fantasize about having a home base. And no, I still don’t know where that will be. Damn if the Hampstead highlife ain’t getting comfy though.

Today I went to the Holland Casino. Even put on a skirt, and checked my backpack at the coat counter. Didn’t play anything respectable but I read a rule book on Punto Banco while having a wine at the bar. Met some guys from my bus and they gave me a lead on a Greece travel story. So, I’m thinking about putting Greece on my Eurail schedule for early April.

It’s raining. And today, for the first time in many days, I’ve taking a break from being a news horse. But that’s another post…

  1. Dont forget to poke your head into the Torture Museum. Must be a fascinating place and wish I could visit it with you! And what are the wonderful food choices in Amsterdam – I gotta know what I’m missing.

  2. One torture museum coming up for the Whip Woman. But, I don’t think it’s on my Amsterdam Pass so I’ll have to look it up.

Food? All sorts. But I’ll take pictures of the very cool femme pastry bakery shop near my hostel in the Red Light district. Thought of you as soon as I saw it.

The Belgian stuff cracks me up. But there’s plenty of food from all over. I’m even tempted to get some Mexican.

  3. Cool Jenn, thanks! I couldn’t find your list so I’m glad you chimed in. So far I’ve only seen an Australian clothing store, but I’ll keep my eyes out for ice cream. As if they weren’t open for that already!

  4. If you have time, check to see if Boom Chicago is still doing their night canal tours — it’s a really cool way to see the red light district.

  5. good to hear you’re out and about on the rails. I figured you were on the train these days, plus we’ve been swamped here. Drop me an update when you have time, no rush.
