postcardcontest.jpgHere are a few job and contest leads I found while working away on the web today that I though WR readers might take interest in:

1) Geist Literary Postcard Contest: This Canadian culture quarterly is not specifically looking for travel writing, but I though the 500-word limit (fiction or non-fiction) on a postcard concept was kinda cool and offers a unique way to share a travel tale. There is a $20 entry fee, but first prize is $250. Deadline is December 1st. (You can view the best entries from the last postcard contest here.)

2) Shanghaiist is looking for a writer. They can’t pay, but it could be a good gig to investigate if you live there or spent a considerable amount of time there in the past.

3)”Wine & Travel Geeks” are needed for a new luxury lifestyle website for women.

4) Writers with study abroad experience are needed for a new book. Submit essays or poetry about being a student in a foreign country by January 1.
