This lead is for all the young journalists out there waiting for their big break. National Geographic Glimpse, a new multimedia platform devoted to exploring real life abroad, is looking for young talented storytellers who will be living abroad in Spring 2009 to join its Correspondents Program. This is an excellent way to break into the industry, as you’ll be getting exposure through an arm of National Geographic and you’ll be guaranteed publication in National Geographic Glimpse in either print or online.

Requirements:
Specialize in writing, photography or video
Are between the ages of 18-30
Will be living or studying for at least 10 weeks between January 1, 2009 – June 30, 2009
Can commit to a professional editorial process
Are willing to talk to locals and seek out new cultural experiences
Are U.S. or Canadian citizens, or have lived in the U.S. or Canada for at least 10 years

4. Writing sample (750 – 1,500 words)

7. Contact information for two references (letters of reference are NOT required)

The application is due November 1, 2008, giving you just over two weeks to get it in!
