Well, today is the deadline for the women’s humor book for Travelers’ Tales. I still have to think of a better title and pile through submissions that are coming in at the last minute. I will say this….the writing in the submissions seems better than when I was doing this for A Women’s Path. Back then I remember there being so much CRAP. But as I was reading some this weekend, I kept thinking—this is a good misadventure, it’s well written, it just didn’t make me laugh. Hardly at all.

The other thing I’m appreciating about the quality of writing we’re getting is that the authors are established. Writers who contribute to the New York Times, Washington Post, Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times and columnists for the San Francisco Chronicle. Can you hear my marketing wheels churning away?

One more month till the manuscript is due. We’ll see what we can come up with.

Thanks to all who turned something in! I know you put a lot of effort in to write it. 🙂
