Today’s Topic: Okanogan County
I was talking to a friend of mine the other day who bought a bundle of cheap land up in a gorgeous section of Washington. It’s called Okanogan Country. There’s a guy named Jim Platt who is selling off parcels of land and apparently he’s nice and well liked in the area. The kind of guy that buyers stay friends with. The area is nestled between the Rocky Mountains to the East and the Cascade Mountains to the West. Tonasket is the closest town, Spokane is the nearest big city, and beautiful Leavenworth is right nearby. When my friend showed me the websites I was drooling. Can you imagine having your own 20 acres with a sweeping mountain view and a creek running through it for less than $60k? Plus 300 days of sunshine? Wow.

My friend also said that there are a lot of young couples moving up there, and that’s what made me think story angle. Suddenly, I wondered if it had ever been on one of those Outside Best Places to Live articles. Or, if maybe, this was the new new.
