I have never been on a travel-writing getaway where you take a trip to do a short intensive course. I’m normally in the wrong continent or have been stuck in a cubicle working; now my life is different and it’s definitely the next thing on my list.

I often get disappointed that most travel-writing courses seem to happen in the US, so was thrilled to hear about Creative Escapes, a company that specializes in photography and travel writing holidays all over the world, aimed at both beginning and established writers and photographers.

The courses are imparted by a superb group of travel-writers like Adrian Mourby, Roger Norum, and Kate Tadman who together have over 35 years of experience and have written for the likes of The Independent, Times, Observer, Independent on Sunday, Los Angeles Times, and lifestyle magazines such as Interval World, Bella and Classic FM.

Their escapes are short getaways that focus on kick-starting and nurturing your creative writing ability and happen in some great locations such as Spain, India, Thailand and France.

The next one is in SPAIN! Yes that’s where I live! But I’m not going to be able to make it — I have an appointment to renew my visa to live in here on the 18th of January. Sucks 🙁

Anyway, for those interested:
